Race Winning Tires From China Debuts in Makina Moto 2026
Redefining Grip In Motion Hits SMX: Gumande Tire Debuts at Makina Moto Expo 2026
PASAY CITY, Philippines (April 11, 2026) – The local motorcycle landscape shifted today at the Makina Moto Expo as Gumande Tire officially launched its high-performance lineup. Backed by 37 years of industrial experience from China’s massice Jianxin Group, the brand is making a high-stakes entry into the Philippines, positioning it as their primary global benchmark outside of China.

With a large scale production footprint covering nearly a million square meters across four plants, Gumande is leaning on serious R&D and premium global suppliers like Cabot, Arlanxeo (Aramco), and Bekaert to challenge the established tire hierarchy.
While Gumande has had a quiet presence through early online listings and a "soft" appearance at the Makina Moto Tiangge and Inside Racing Bike Fest earlier this year, today’s event marked its aggressive entry into the premium-performance segment.

The Product Hierarchy: From Track to Tarmac
Gumande clarified its local offerings, distinguishing between pure racing rubber and high-performance street tires:
- GT-RS (The Race Specialist): A dedicated racing tire engineered for 10, 12-inch and 14-inch fitments. This is the brand's weapon for the track, designed for high-heat cycles and maximum side-grip.
- GT-01 (Street Performance): A semi-slick, thread aesthetics and grip to the daily commute. It’s balanced for those who want track performance without the rapid wear of a pure slick.
- LY-02 and LT-02 (All-Weather Sport): The "daily driver" for the Philippine climate. The LY-02 is a sport tire designed for superior drainage and "Super Grip" in both wet and dry conditions, targeting underbones and backbones.

The "Spirit" and the Science
Marketing Director Janis Crisostomo shared that the name Gumande is a hybrid of "Guma" (Rubber) and "Ande" (Swedish for spirit), symbolizing their commitment to the "Spirit of Rubber."

A Vision for the Philippine Community
The launch was more than just a spec sheet; it was a roadmap for engagement. Mr. Richard Liu of the Jianxin Group revealed that Gumande has been a dominant force in Chinese Supersport and Superbike races and plans to bring that energy here.
- Gumande Racing & Stunt Series: Plans are underway for a local racing series and national stunt competitions.
- Media Factory Tours: In a show of transparency, the brand plans to fly Philippine media to China for factory tours and to witness their racing operations firsthand.

He also broke down the technical DNA of their compounds:
- 40% Rubber (Natural & Synthetic)
- 30% Reinforcement Filler (Carbon Black & Silica)
- 15% Framework Material
- 5% Vulcanizing Material

The Dealer Promise
In a closing speech that resonated with industry partners, Miller Chua, Managing Partner of Gumande Philippines, promised a "rigid structure" for the brand's growth.
"We promise dealer collaboration, price protection, and the full backing of our international headquarters," Chua stated. "We define success when our dealers are financially successful too."

Future Outlook: Dual Sport and EVs
Gumande isn't stopping at motorcycles. The brand announced plans to enter the Dual Sport segment, as well as developing specialized tires for EV cars and hybrid vehicles, signaling a long-term commitment to the evolving Philippine mobility sector.
