In a thrilling Tissot Sprint at the Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Portugal, Alex Marquez edged out Pedro Acosta in a intense late-race duel at Portimão, with Marco Bezzecchi holding third after starting from pole. Bezzecchi led early before Acosta and Marquez overtook at Turn 1, sparking a series of position swaps at Turns 1, 3, and 5 over the 12-lap affair, as the trio pulled away from the field by over 1.5 seconds. Marquez maintained a slim advantage on the final lap to secure victory by 0.120 seconds, marking Gresini Ducati’s first Sprint win of 2025, while Acosta’s charge for KTM fell just short and Bezzecchi capitalized on the front-row battle for Aprilia.
