PASAY CITY, Philippines – Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) officially disrupted the 155cc segment tonight at SM MoA By the Bay with the launch of the 2026 Yamaha Lexi 155. Priced at an aggressive ₱99,900, it’s a clear shot at the Honda Click 160, offering a pure, no-nonsense workhorse for the Filipino commuter.

The "No-BS" Spec Sheet

This Philippine version is built for utility, not for show. Yamaha has stripped away the costly electronic "jewelry" to keep the price under six figures.

  • Engine: 155cc Liquid-Cooled, 4-Stroke, SOHC, 4-Valve with VVA.
  • Safety & Tech: Standard braking (Front Disc / Rear Drum). No ABS, No Traction Control, and No Keyless system.
  • Fuel & Storage: The fuel tank remains under the seat (4.1L capacity), which keeps the under-seat storage at a medium volume—enough for daily essentials, but not as massive as its front-fill cousins.
  • Connectivity: It still comes equipped with Y-Connect for those who want phone notifications on their dash.
  • Ergonomics: A massive flat step board "Gulay Board" paired with a long, comfy seat for all-day riding comfort, plus a pillion.
News Moto Perspective: This is the bike the "App-Rider" community (Grab, Angkas, Lalamove) has been waiting for. Bigger than the gravis but with the NMAX stance, designed for heavy-duty, real-world utility. It’s simple, it’s powerful, and at ₱99k, it’s a true value for money in its category.

The Launch Event

Hosted by Drew Arellano, the evening had a distinct "Rock n' Roll" energy, headlined by a powerhouse performance from Bamboo.

  • Welcome Intro: Toni Acuesta (Marketing Brand Execution Sr. Section Manager) officially opened the night, emphasizing Yamaha's commitment to "defying" segment norms.
  • Product Deep-Dive: Lizel Tumali (Section Manager, South Luzon) broke down the technical shift to the 155cc VVA platform.
  • The Big Reveal: Jufel Lopez (Sales Department Manager) brought the house down by confirming the ₱99,900 SRP, now available nationwide.
  • New Faces of Yamaha
While 2026 ambassadors Ruru Madrid and Mika Salamanca were present to represent the brand's lifestyle side, the crowd favorite was rising boxer Emman Bacosa Pacquiao. As the new face of the Lexi 155, Pacquiao embodies the "tough and practical" spirit of the bike in its latest commercial.

Practicality Over Frills

"I spent time with the Lexi as a service scooter at the Chang Circuit in Buriram, Thailand seven years ago and loved its simplicity. While I wish they moved the fuel tank to the front to open up that storage space, you can’t argue with the 155cc VVA engine at this price. It’s a 'Super Gravis' with NMAX DNA. No ABS or Keyless means fewer things to break for a daily workhorse. It’s pure utility."
