Formula E: Look at the Stunning High-Res Photos of Formula E's New 815HP Gen4
London, UK – November 5, 2025
Formula E and the FIA have revealed the Gen4 race car, the series' most advanced, powerful, and eco-friendly machine yet. Debuting in the 2026/27 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season, it packs 600kW (over 815hp) with active all-wheel drive across all race phases, 50% more power than the Gen3 Evo.

Key Upgrades
- Performance: 450kW peak race power, 600kW Attack Mode for overtakes, 700kW regenerative braking (40% energy recovery), and 55kWh battery for aggressive strategies. Dual aero setups: high downforce for qualifying, low for racing. Bigger tires and active differential enhance grip and handling.
- Sustainability: Nearly 100% motor efficiency, 100% recyclable materials (20% recycled content), ethical sourcing throughout the supply chain.
- Design: Engineered for intense wheel-to-wheel action, road-relevant tech for manufacturers like Porsche, Nissan, Stellantis, Jaguar, and Lola Cars to integrate their innovations.
The Gen4 enters development with these teams, who will fine-tune powertrains and energy systems ahead of Season 13.

"This bold new technical framework... will allow OEMs to incorporate and showcase their own road-relevant technologies more than ever before." – Marek Nawarecki, FIA Senior Circuit Sport Director
Formula E Co-Founder Alberto Longo emphasized its challenge for drivers: "It's a car built for wheel-to-wheel battles and pure racing action."
FIA Technical Manager Vincent Gaillardot highlighted: "With drivers able to deploy more than 815hp... Gen4 slots in at the sharp end of the FIA's single-seater pyramid."
